Nike SB Dunk Low Club 58 Gulf
The Nike Dunk Low Pro SB 'Gulf' is the follow-up to the Blazer Mid 'Club 58' from 2018, which were both created in partnership with a group of four Western European skate shops. The exterior is made of light blue suede and features a white leather Swoosh and a round 58 design on the lateral heel. On the knitted tag fastened to the stuffed mesh tongue, the digits are repeated.
The style pays homage to the legendary 1970 Porsche 917 Gulf race car by imitating the car's iconic colours. The shoes have a full blue-green suede covering with dramatic white and black embellishments, as well as brilliant orange outsoles, in homage to the 50-year-old car. The Club 58 insignia is affixed to the lateral ankle channels of the race car's numbers. Its fattie mesh tongues are topped with the same 58 logo as the upper, and the vamp is held in place by black, white, or orange laces. The style is completed by a crisp white outsole with black contrasting embroidery and the stated orange rubber outsole.
Nike took note of the love skaters had for the Dunk and finally in 2002, introduced the SB Dunk, re-engineered for skating with features such as more padding and better traction. The SB Dunk became a canvas to try out offbeat colour combinations and unusual fabrics like pig suede.
