The Nike Dunk High EMB Lakers were first designed for use on hardwood, but later took to the streets. As they say, the rest is history. The silhouette continues to deliver aggressive, defiant style more than 35 years after its introduction, and crews in both sport and culture continue to covet it.

The Nike Dunk High EMB Lakers pays homage to the silhouette's roots in the hardwood with a well-known colour scheme honouring Los Angeles' top NBA franchise. The high-top features a bold Opti Yellow leather Swoosh and Court Purple leather overlays over a black textile upper. A raised and embroidered Nike wordmark with a typeface reminiscent of the Los Angeles franchise's emblem wraps around the lateral heel. "Nike Sports Specialties" is visible on a retro woven tag.

Released as a collegiate sneaker, Nike Dunks can now be found on the feet of celebrities and commoners alike. Limited editions like Off White Dunks, from the 2019 collab between Nike and Virgil Abloh’s design label Off-White further cemented Dunks’ place in sneaker folklore.
